St Catherine’s School Sydney NSW
St Catherine’s School in Sydney decided to go greener with their annual Magnolia Fair with the motto being “Towards Zero Waste”. They created a tea towel with portraits of the junior school students to sell in the lead up to and on the day of the fair. Fundraising coordinator Karissa was very pleased with our environmental policies, as they were aligned with the Fair’s aim. “It was such a wonderful event enjoyed by so many of our students, staff, parents, friends and guests. We sold all but two of our tea towels prior to the day and we were so thrilled when you provided us with the compostable bags to present them in to our parents!!”
Using our resources and tips helped to make the fundraiser a near sell-out before the actual fair, an incredible result raising over $1000! Karissa cleverly framed a sample tea towel and displayed it in the school hallway, generating excitement and pre-sales. Families were also able to order online, making the process simple and sustainable.
The school community took meaningful steps to reduce waste and promote sustainable practices and their Magnolia Fair was a huge success.
Today’s parents and schools want more than just money raising ideas for schools, they want initiatives that feel good and do good. Tea towel fundraisers are the perfect blend of sustainability and success
