Camberwell South Kitchen Garden
We’ve helped many schools over the years create fundraising products specifically for their school kitchens and canteens, the designs appeal to the wider community and having the students draw their favourite plants, veggies or fruit make for unique pictures.
One such school was Camberwell South Primary School who were the winners of a Best Edible School Garden Award. Coordinator Virginia who ran the garden and kitchen program contacted us to design an apron in the school’s signature blue and yellow colours to celebrate the win.
Featuring students’ sketches of produce from the garden, the chicken coup, the prize winning chooks and the pride of the school, the beautiful mulberry tree. A lovely apron design was created to be used by students and staff in the kitchen and at events throughout the year such as sports carnivals.
After the aprons were so popular, extras were ordered to on-sell to families as a bonus fundraiser along with matching tea towels, they sold out as well. Camberwell South not only created fabulous mementos, they also raised over $3000 in the process.
Virginia’s feedback “You have given us such a great boost to our kitchen garden with your design, it just hits the spot and everyone is eager to buy one. The aprons have sold out unexpectedly and we hope to put another order in after the carnival with another tea towel order too…thanks for being so clever and great to work with.”
