We recently had some very special artwork come to us from Penny. Her 5 year old daughter Zoe was diagnosed with a rare and incurable brain tumour known as giant cell glioblastoma in March 2017 and sadly lost her battle just before Christmas the same year. Penny explains ” In keeping Zoe’s memory alive Zoe’s Fight Foundation became a registered charity. Our little foundation is based in Geelong, we are a non for profit, 100% volunteer run foundation. Our charity is helping to raise awareness towards brain cancer and also raising much needed funds for research into paediatric brain tumours. Currently brain cancer kills more children and adults under 40 than any other disease. And brain cancer survial rates have rarely changed in 30 years. Hopefully one day children and adults who are diagnosed with brain cancer have a chance at life and parents don’t have to go through this nightmare. Together we can make a difference.”
The bright and beautiful artwork that came to us very much reflects the personality of Zoe, who was obsessed with everything unicorns, butterflies and rainbows and brought a smile to all of those she met. Along with a photo of gorgeous Zoe who looks every bit the warrior princess, we created full-colour tea towels to be sold at the upcoming Zoe’s Fight Gala Ball. Back for it’s 2nd year, the ball is on the 7th September at Mt Duneed Estate in Geelong and tickets are still available.
*Update* The Gala Ball raised an amazing $41,105! All money raised has been allocated towards funding early phase clinical trials for children diagnosed with brain cancer at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
The tea towels are also now available to buy via the Zoe’s Fight Foundation website shop.
