St Bernadette’s Catholic Primary School in Port Kennedy WA couldn’t have had a more successful first tea towel fundraiser, selling out and re-ordering within Term One! Coordinator Angela organised the project to coincide with the school’s 25th anniversary and shared her experience with us.

“Our school celebrated 25 years of Catholic Education in Port Kennedy this year and to celebrate one of our initiatives was to record the students in the school in a personal way with Expressions’ tea towels. All of the students drew themselves and the teachers as well. We arranged the tea towels in Term One and at the term’s end the tea towels had been so popular (over 450 sold) we ordered more to sell at our celebration events in Term Two. The tea towels have been sold at our open night, sausage sizzle, morning tea and gala dinner. Many parents have told us stories of sending tea towels to England, Ireland, France and New Zealand. Some have had them framed, sewn them into plastic bag holders and the majority of parents are buying extras as keepsakes.

Overall we are so pleased with these and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Expressions to schools who have milestone events in the schools and as a fundraiser. Expressions were easy to deal with, very professional and were only too happy to be contacted with questions regarding design and layout.”

As the main aim was to create an anniversary item they were priced affordably for everyone – selling 1 for $10, 2 for $9 each and 3 or more at $8 each but any money that is raised as an extra has been going straight back into the celebratory events for current students. Displaying the sample tea towel in the office for parents to see and having order forms there ready to go helped to sell many.
