What’s the difference between Custom Design, DIY Saver, Full Colour Digital & Individual Artwork?
Custom Design – Each child/teacher/staff does a drawing which you send to us in the post satchel provided. Then, our experienced designers scan and arrange your drawings and logo to create your group design. Your design is screen-printed in one colour.
DIY Saver – You layout your own drawings directly onto a cardboard sheet or create your design digitally. You either post your finished design to us or upload it through our website. https://www.expressions.com.au/artwork-upload/ We will add your border choice once your artwork is received. Your design is screen-printed in one colour.
Full Colour Digital – You can choose Custom Design or DIY Saver (see above) and do drawings in Full Colour! Your design is digitally printed in full colour.
Individual Artwork Tea Towels – Each participating child does their drawing on an A4 or A3 sheet of paper. Expressions will scale the drawing to fit the maximum print area and print each unique drawing on their own tea towel. Individual artworks are printed digitally in full colour.

How long does it take?
Allow up to 6 weeks for Custom Designs and 5 weeks for DIY Savers from the time you post us your artwork to delivery (turnaround times are often much faster). The length of time it takes to complete the drawings or designs at your end is up to you – some groups are finished drawing in one day and others take a few weeks. For ‘custom designs’, the final layout will be ready for you to check and approve approximately 2 weeks after we receive your artwork. Once you approve the design, the tea towels will be printed and you should receive the final product within about 2 weeks of your approval.
What is the minimum order?
The minimum order for each separate design is 50. The majority of our fundraisers achieve order numbers much higher than this. Please note that if you are doing more than one design, e.g. Junior & Senior, each unique design will be treated individually in regard to pricing and minimum orders. Our combination orders (see above) have a minimum order of 50 tea towels and 20 aprons.
How many drawings can we include on each product?
We can fit up to 450 portraits on one tea towel designs, however over 200 we ask that you draw faces only. Aprons can include up to 300 portraits. Bags can include 150 portraits on one side (double-sided printing is an extra $3 per item).
How much should we charge for our products?
It is entirely up to what price you on-sell your products for. The most common price our regular fundraisers charge is between $15-20 per tea towel and $20-25 for bags & aprons. Another popular option is to offer a multi-buy price such as $15 for 1 tea towel or 3 for $40.
Can we do a combination of tea towels AND aprons AND bags?
Yes. We can use your original images to create unique designs for use on tea towels, aprons and bags. Minimum order numbers of 50 apply for each separate design.
Alternatively for smaller groups we offer a tea towel/apron combo, using your tea towel design (portrait only) printed on both. The minimum order for this combination is 50 tea towels and 20 aprons (or 50 aprons and 20 tea towels).
Bags CANNOT be included in a combo as the artwork is a different size so a unique screen is required.
When is a good time to do a fundraiser?
Tea towels, aprons and bags can help you achieve a healthy fundraising goal at any time of the year. The tea towels, aprons and bags can be a fabulous way to celebrate special occasions such as an anniversary, final year at school or open day and are great presents for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day or Christmas.
We encourage everyone to get artwork in early so you have more time to promote your project. We offer an Early Bird Bonus for orders completed by June 30. Please note delivery times are longer in term 4 as this is our busiest time of year.
Can we reorder?
Absolutely! The minimum reorder quantity is 30.
How are the drawings positioned?
The drawings can be placed in either a landscape or portrait format. For Custom Designs we will scan all the drawings and lay out the drawings for you in your chosen format adding in your logo, border and text and following any other specifications such as group or class order. If you choose to design a DIY Saver you will either design it yourself digitally or stick down all the drawings by hand onto cardboard and we will add your chosen border only.
What are your standard colours?
We have 13 standard colours in our screen-printed range.
There should be something to suit everyone, however if you would like to print with a specific colour outside of our range inquire about the use of PMS colours.
We also offer FULL COLOUR digital printing.
Multiple colour prints: for 2 colours add $1.50 per item, for 3 colours add $2.50 per item.
Our screen printing ink is fully colourfast, fade resistant and long wearing.
What borders can we use?
We have a huge range of borders to choose from which will be supplied in your coordinator’s guide. Alternatively, let us help you create your own unique border. There is no extra charge for this special service. We welcome your ideas. Many schools have text included in the border, such as school details or teachers’ names or use pictures of animals or your logo to create something distinctive.
Can we do a design without drawings?
Yes, we can create a design using your crest, logo, a sketch or signatures to celebrate an anniversary or special event. It can be as imaginative, as creative or as simple as you like. Let our team help you create something unique and memorable. If you have an idea our experienced team can help you bring it to life. Artwork can be provided Print Ready as a digital file or we can put together a custom design for you.
Also, our Full Colour Digital printing allows almost limitless possibilities. Simply provide a high resolution photograph to the right dimensions or let the kids use every texta in their pencil case and we can print it!
When and how do we pay?
An invoice will be sent via email at the time your order is despatched. Payment is due strictly 7 days after you have received your order. Payment is accepted by EFT through your online banking (details on your invoice) or credit card through our online pay portal. https://www.expressions.com.au/pay-online/
We also can accept cheques where EFT or credit card payment is not available. Forward cheques to Expressions Australia Pty Ltd, 8/43B Townview Tce, Margaret River, WA, 6285. Cheques must be made payable to Expressions Australia Pty Ltd.
Quote organisation name, ID or Invoice number with payment for easy identification.
What are the tea towels like?
Our extra large, high quality tea towels are made specifically for us from ethically sourced 100% white or unbleached natural cotton. Tea towels measure 50 x 70cm and are thick with a tight weave for smooth high quality printing. If you require linen or linen/cotton blend tea towels please contact us for a quote.
What are the bags like?
Our large size sturdy bags (40 x 45cm, 10cm gusset, 55cm handles) are available in black, navy or white. We have them made specially for us in quality ethically sourced 100% cotton drill.
What are the aprons like?
Our high quality adult size aprons (85 x 70cm) are available in white, bottle green, black, red, navy and burgundy.
Where do you source your tea towels?
All our tea towels are manufactured specifically for us from ethically grown 100% organic cotton in India in a GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified factory we have been working with for many years.
We also use 100% environmentally friendly inks – 100% solvent, PVC and phthalate free with approval from the Soil Association of the UK, having successfully met the requirements of the Global Organic Textiles Standards (GOTS) for non-organic chemical inputs for use in organic textile processing.
All of our items are designed and printed in Australia.
