Cathedral Catholic Primary School in Bathurst, NSW have been creating an annual tradition with us every year since 2013!! Each year they create two separate tea towel designs, one featuring self-portraits of all the Kindergarteners and the other with names/signatures of all the graduating Year 6 students.

We asked fundraising coordinator Jodie how they make it so successful, lucky for us she was happy to share her advice;

“We have run this fundraiser for as long as I can remember. The P&F organise it but it is aimed at Kindy and Year 6 students as a memento for them joining and then leaving the school. It has been a huge success over the years as a fundraiser for the school, although we have decided to put a minimal mark up on them as the are more for the children and families. In saying that it is still profitable.”

To publicise this year’s tea towels Jodie said they used the order form template we provide and updated it with their school dates and requirements then did the following;

  • Each child was given a printed order form sent home in their school bag
  • Added the order form to the electronic school newsletter
  • Printed and displayed posters around the classrooms of the 2 different grades
  • Teachers followed up and reminded students of their orders

And finally, the school has a memory wall in the library where they have the tea towels from previous years framed and hung so that students and families can see them at anytime. What a lovely way for all the students to admire their little portraits as they grow and also to remember students from the past.
